Baby Name Protocol

So all of my sisters-in-law know the protocol of "calling baby names". Meaning you have a list of names that you like for a future baby...you may have some that you somewhat like, some that you really like and then there are the ones that you would very much consider naming your next child. Sometimes you even have "the" name, meaning that will be the name of your next baby.

If you "call" a baby name, that means it is off limits to others. And out of kindness and consideration the others will know that they cannot and should not use that name. Even if you don't specifically "call" a baby name, but you mention that you really like that name for your next baby, a very close relative or friend should be respectful enough not to use that name. It's a tricky thing though saying what you are going to name your baby, because you want everyone to know that it is your name so that no one else will use it, but then you have that evil sinister person who thinks "oh, I like that name, I think I will use it-and I am having a baby first!" and they go use your name--big jerks!

So to one of my sisters-in-law (not naming names), I am truly sorry that the Baby Name Protocol has been broken and that your name was stolen and used by your very own sister (gasp!). I hope that you know I would never do that to you (not that I am having anymore kids, but if I was...)

So everyone, please be kind and follow the correct baby naming rules. Also, don't let your husband use your baby name on your dog, it kind of ruins it and then you can't use it on a child (Dave!)

Spring Break

Yes, we just got back from vacation AGAIN. It was Spring Break, can you blame us?! So here comes another blog/picturefest. We spent the week in St. George at Richard & Connie's (THANK YOU!!!!). Brook and Melissa came and stayed with us. When they got there, Jordyn was so confused, she asked me why we moved again! So I told her it was Rylan's Nana's house, after a while she came up to me and said "your Nana sure has a good lookin house". It was so nice to have a place to stay where we could keep food, play games, swim, and put the kids to bed early (yes even on vacation 8:00 is pushing it!) It was such a great week, we didn't want to come home. The kids swam about 80% of the time. I think our kids would live in water if they could.

We also got in some relaxing movie time mostly at the condo, but we did go to the theater room and watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (it was a lot more scary than I remember--sorry kiddos)

We were able to get in some soccer and basketball

And lots of games of Old Maid (the best part was, all the kids wanted to end up with the Old Maid-sounds good to me!)



Our friends, the Battys and the Leiters, were also down there. The Leiters came and went swimming with us one day, but they were all too sunburned to come back the next day. We went with them to dinner at Samurai 21, we had a hispanic chef (which I thought was a little strange for a Japanese steakhouse).



One day we went on a little hike by Leeds with the Battys. It was about a 20 minute hike, which was perfect for the kids. There were water pools and waterfalls. It was awesome!

One of my favorite things was Jordyn's blessing on the food,I wish I could remember all of it-but some of my favorite parts were "please bless us that we know that dreams come true" and "that we know that monsters aren't real". I could barely keep from laughing (and the prayer lasted about 5 minutes)

We had such a good time, but now it is really back to reality...bummer!

Happy Earth Day

I have never been one to truly celebrate Earth Day. I admit I don't recycle (we don't have that option here in Santaquin), I drive more than I should, and I litter (well not really, but I had to come up with something else).

Hayden came home from school today all excited about Earth Day. He was asking all sorts of questions. He asked if the earth would live better if there was no garbage, I told him yes. So he took his brother and two garbage sacks and headed out. Now let me remind you that we live in a new neighborhood with lots of construction...yeah, they almost filled our garbage can (and today was garbage day). Hayden asked if half of the earth in Santaquin would live better now, and I was so happy to tell him yes. I thought he was so cute, he was so excited to be out doing his part. And to all you people in Santaquin... you are very welcome for picking up all of your garbage!

P.S. Aubs, way to go on the water pitcher, I'm very proud of you guys! :)

So long, farewell, we hate to say goodbye...

Our last morning in Disneyland we had breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. Talk about a good time for the kids; and the food was pretty good too. The kids thought it was great having pancakes, eggs, bacon, mac & cheese, pizza and chicken nuggets for breakfast. They got to meet several of the characters, and dance and have a good time.

Then came the long ride back to St. George, it should have taken 6 hours, but it took about 9. A tractor trailer had burned down between Barstow and Baker, we were pretty much stuck forever! There were some pretty funny bathroom stories, but I won't name names :) Let me just say this, it involved diapers and pull-ups!

We spent the next two days in St. George swimming and then we headed home to recouperate. We had a wonderful time, but it was very nice to be home.

Thank you Nana & Grandpa for such a wonderful, memorable trip. We appreciate you and all you do for us. We love you!

Year of a Million Dreams...Yeah Right!

It wasn't even the year of one dream! Did we ever get a Fast Pass Dream Pass? No. Did Kylie ever get a special prize for it being her birthday? No. Did we get to stay in Walt's Dream Sweet? No. And dang it, Dave didn't even get a free corndog! Dream Squad, What?...more like Dream Squad, Whatever! (a little insiderness there)

I promise, I am getting closer to being done.

We finally got to ride on King Tritan's Carousel, it made Rylan's whole day! We had to go again, and again, and again. It made me sick! He told me that he can't wait to go to Disneyland again to ride that ride.

The anticipation must be killing you... yes we did go on Nemo! We didn't even have to waid 2 hours, more like 20 minutes max! The verdict on the ride was mixed. Some didn't like it. I liked it just fine, but don't need to ever do it again. And Rylan can't wait to go back and ride it over and over!

By the end of the night we were all exhausted!

Day 5

Monsters Inc. was one of our favorite rides, maybe it helped that Ry and I have the movie memorized and watch it almost every day.

The weather was wonderful in Cali-not too hot and not too cold-all except the day that we had to sit on the road facing the sun (for the High School Musical Parade) it was HOT!

Even Grandma D & Grandpa Gil were good sports and sat down on the ground with us.

The Tower of Terror is by far my most favorite ride ever, I could ride it over and over and over again (actually us girls were tricky and snuck through twice while the guys watched the kids, hee hee). Hayden went on it again this time and didn't mind it, but when I asked if he wanted to go on it again-he said that he "would ride it tomorrow" (tomorrow never came)
