Pumpkin carving is serious business

Sweet Melissa (sing to the Alman Brothers Song, by the same name)

This is my wonderful sister-in-law and my best friend, Melissa (her daughter Jordyn is my other BFF).
My brother could also be classified as my best friend, and I could not have chose a better wife for him. Melissa is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!
Now that I am working ALL the time, I miss Melissa so much. We used to talk to each other on the phone at least ten times a day (literally). I was pretty much talking to her on the phone everytime a I peed on a pregnancy test, so she was the first to know! (sorry, TMI)
She is expecting a baby boy in January, I have to admit I am sad and a little bit jealous that we are not having a baby together this time. Our other kids are the same ages and it is so fun. But don't get me wrong, I am sooo excited for her and I can't wait to meet little Huck :) I hope she doesn't mind if I hog him when we are together.
So Melissa, I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I am so glad you are part of our family!
Have you ever seen such a cute mommy-to-be?!

Picture Overload...Labor Day Weekend

So here are my long lost, then recovered Labor Day Weekend pictures...sorry for the long photo album. But I loved the weekend, so I had so much to show.

What a babe!!! Jordyn loves these old boots and beautiful vest that were my mom's. Oh, and the wig is a nice touch too.
Jordy is a CRAZY driver in her jeep, and Ry just goes along for the ride. We went outside and found them stuck like this!

My mom makes homemade salsa every year with the vegetables from her garden. Dee will eat at least one jar a day, so she makes A LOT to keep us stocked up!

Dee and Brook always loved shooting each other with the marshmallow guns, so it is no surprise that their sons love it too!

If you are from Oak City, it is a requirement to play Rook.

This is how are children travel to and from church. Don't you love Hayden's gun! :) There was an amazing lightening storm, that not only woke our kids up, but also kept them awake for a long time! I think they all ended up in bed with either their parents or Grandma and Grandpa.Brook is such a kid still. He entertained all of the "little" kids by taking them on the 3 wheeler and doing wheelies. The cool thing about that nice retro 3 wheeler, is that it is mine-I got it for my 8th birthday...and it still runs! Hayden loves riding the 3 wheeler. BTW that's my old helmet also.

Super Girl! Jordyn learned how to ride a motorcycle that weekend. She DID NOT want to get off. She is such a stud muffin!

Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us come and invade you! We love you!

I finally found this again. Please just ignore me, because I'm a big dork in it! But for those of you who haven't seen it...this is the second news story that they did on Rylan.

I hope it works!

You can't just click on it. You have to paste the website in the browser, but then you should be able to see it.

Husband Tag
1. What is his name? Dee
2. Who eats more? Probably me
3. Who said, "I love you" first. He did
4. Who is taller? He is, but only by about a foot
5. Who is smarter? Well I would definitely have to say me, but he would probably disagree.
Who is more sensitive? I am
7. Who does the laundry? I do (or really, my mom)
8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do (9 times out of ten, the wife sleeps on the side closest to the door-for some unknown reason-then you are the one closest when the kids come in at night)
9. Who pays the bills? We are trying to do that together
10. Who cooks more? I don't think I've ever seen him cook, unless you count Ramen Noodles
11. Who is more stubborn? Tough call...we are both pretty darn stubborn
12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Like I said, we are both very stubborn, so it takes a lot for either of us to admit we are wrong
13. Who has more siblings? He does
14. Who wears the pants in the relationship? He thinks he does!!
15. What do you like to do together? sometimes we forget how do do things as "husband and wife" instead of "mom and dad"...but we do like to watch movies and go out to dinner
16. Who eats more sweets? The answer used to be me, but since he has been on an insulin pump. I think he is trying to catch up on all those years of candy deprivation (hence his addiction to Nibs)
17. Guilty Pleasures? Us Weekly
18. How did you meet? Working at Ace Rents
19. Who asked whom out first? He asked me to go to the movie with him AND Scott Dickerson (how romantic)

22. His best features and qualities? He is a very hard worker. Great husband and dad.

Tagged

Laura tagged me and this one wasn't so bad, so I decided to do it.This is Rylan when he was first potty trained. He was showing me how cute he looked in his new underwear. I love when they go from wearing diapers to having "cute underwear bum"!

I am tagging, whoever wants to do it. Go to your pictures, 4th folder and upload the 4th picture...pretty easy.

It's dress up time again

This is how much Rylan loves his costume for Halloween...
And yes this is an everyday occurence, he puts it on first thing when he gets up in the morning, as soon as he gets home from school, and he goes to bed with it on until I come in and take it off, because he is sweating to death!

Back where I come from...

For those of you who don't know, I grew up in the OC-the real OC that is. Otherwise known as Oak City. The best little town in all the world. It truly is the celestial kingdom (right mom?!) I am so grateful that I was able to be raised in such a wonderful place. I wish that I could raise my own kids there. They are in pure heaven when we go to my mom and dad's house.

There are only about 600-800 residents, we have one church building, one small store (which my kids call "the treat store"), numerous farms, an awesome canyon (when it's not on fire or being flooded).

I had a comment on my last post about living in Mayberry (Delta), and you know what, there is nothing wrong with Mayberry, I personally quite enjoy it. I love the laid back feeling and the wonderful spirit that come from small towns like that (why do you think we ended up living in Santaquin).

If you ever have the chance to take your kids to Oak City-do it because they will love it!

Mom & Dad we can't wait to come down again.

I'm an illegal alien

Well maybe I'm not an illegal alien, but right now I am an illegal driver. (Please don't turn me in, it wasn't intentional)
So when we moved, I forgot to change my address for my driver's license. My birthday came and went, and I never thought anything about it. I went to WalMart a couple days ago, and I didn't have my debit card, so I wrote a check out. But the checker told me that they couldn't accept my check because my driver's license expired one week ago. Yep, so I had to do the "walk of shame", I had to leave my groceries there because I couldn't pay for them.
I can't just renew my license online, because I have had mine for like ten years and I need to finally go get me one of the cool new ones. I keep forgetting to do it. So while I was remembering today, I decided to do it after work. I hurried home from work, picked up the kids and drove to Nephi. (Why Nephi? you ask, well it's closer than Provo and MUCH less busy!)
We made it to Nephi, found the DMV in the basement of the Senior Citizen's Center, and discovered that they are only in the office on Tuesdays. I made it a point to check the internet before I went, and it said that all Utah DMV office hours were Mon-Thur 7:00-6:00, but apparently that doesn't include Nephi.
But the trip to Nephi wasn't a complete loss, we stopped at Reed's drive-in and got a delicious burger and fries for the way home.
So, wish us happy safe driving until next Tuesday. (Well every other day after that too)
