I turned my head for one second and he fell off and landed on his arm. We've never had a broken bone at our house, so I wasn't sure what to think. I just remember Jono's broken arm that was bending in places that it shouldn't bend, so that's what I was looking for.
We made him go swimming after and he still complained about it hurting. I took him to the babysitter the next morning and told her what happened, and to let me know if it was hurting him. I got a text later saying that he was really hurting. So we went to the doctor, and sure enough it was broken.
Ry told me that he didn't think it was broken, because he thought a broken arm would hurt much worse than it did! :) He thinks he is pretty cool with his cast on, he even went to pack meeting at the park about an hour after he got it on. He asked if he could do the monkey bars! Silly boy!

That exact same thing happened to Sydni on the monkey bars and same arm! She was soooo proud to finally be able to do the monkey bars and I looked down for a minute and then she was on the ground but it was a fracture by the elbow so they splinted it but still limited her for a long time! She was so mad- "mom, why did we have to go to the stupid playground?" Dumb mommy, ha ha! He looks so cute in his green cast!
This is the second post I've read this month that had a broken arm/monkey bar incident. So sad. I am glad he's ok.
BTW it looks like our families were both "camping" at the same time, but in different parks. :-) If I were camping with you, and we were on bunk beds, I would yell out in my sleep, "Look out! I'm coming down!" lol
Adam broke that same arm on the monkey bars a couple years ago! After that every time we went to the park he would stand at the monkey bars and tell anyone on it that they were going to break their arm! I hope he is okay and just to warn you it does make a pretty good weapon;)
Note to self....Don't let Kids play on monkey bars. Good to know.
