We spent last weekend with my family at Big Rock Candy Mountain. After five years of working for the owners, and five years of them bugging me to go down and stay---we finally went.
Bill, Ann, Jono, Chad, Laura, Brynn & Deegan went with us also. (When I said we went with my family, that of course was including them, because they complete our family.)

We stayed in the cabins which had names like
Robbers Roost,
Butch Cassidy and the
Sundancer to name a few. The cabins were not a
Ritz for sure, but for anyone that has ever stayed in the cabins at Fishlake-compared to Fishlake these were amazing!
Jono was always helping the kids do crafts or eating at their table. We told him that either he was going to be a kindergarten teacher or he would have 12 kids!

This is
Rylan's playdoh interpretation of Big Rock Candy Mountain.
We tried kayaking in the Sevier River. It was my first time, and I think it would have been a lot easier if Ry's head wasn't in the way. It was great, I wish I could do it more often, it was fun exercise.

We also went white water rafting--it was a blast! I can't wait to do it again. We took the kids this time, so I think the guides took it kind of easy on us-next time the kids are staying home. My boys loved it,
Brynn and
Ryder-not so much. (if you look closely in some of the pics you can see the kids heads)
Sorry Claire, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you are not the only baby in Rylan's life. He spent all weekend touching, looking at, talking to, feeding, and tending Deegan. I have never seen a boy love babies the way he does. Maybe he'll be the one to have 12 kids.

I introduced my fam to
Bocce Ball, we never did get a serious game going though, because the kids always wanted to play. Let me tell you though that grass was far from ideal to play on.

There was lots of mud to play in. The kids also went fishing although they didn't catch anything. The boys rode their motorcycles. There were a few 4-wheeler rides too. The food at the cafe was great. We had such a great time. I can't wait til we go next year. Until then, if my bosses ask me to go down, I won't hesitate.
Now, it wouldn't be a normal week for us, if we didn't make at least one trip to the doctor. Hayden, Rylan and I rode home with my Mom & Dad. Dee had left earlier. We were going to stop at the Fremont Indian Museum and at Cove Fort. Hayden was having a hard time with his asthma, and Dee had taken his inhalers in the car with him. I thought that Hayden would be fine until we got home (I should have known better). We had just gotten to the Museum and Hayden told me he wanted to go. He was really struggling to breathe. So we made a trip to the Emergency Room in Richfield. I felt so bad for him, it made me so sad to see him in pain and to see his fear. The doctors and nurses were so cute with him, he was such a great patient; he made it easy on everyone. They gave him a breathing treatment, an oral steroid, and an inhaler to go. He was immediately back to his normal self, which was so good to see. I am so grateful for the medical technology that we have today. We are truly blessed.
Hayden got a sucker for the road, and he was nice and got one for his brother too.
